- Was the equipment manufactured before the applicable cutoff?
- Is the system legal to install in your area?
- Does it come with a full manufacturer warranty?
- Is the equipment properly matched?
- Is the price low enough to justify choosing older refrigerant technology?
Why Is R-410A Being Phased Out?
R-410A is one of several AC refrigerant types used in residential cooling systems. It is being phased out because of its high Global Warming Potential (GWP). Now, newer refrigerants like R-454B and R-32 are taking its place.

R-32 and R-454B are the next step in the current direction of the HVAC industry. Manufacturers are focusing more on these refrigerants because of the regulations.
