These are complete central heat pump systems, not outdoor condensers sold by themselves.
The package includes an XV18 variable-speed outdoor heat pump, a compatible Trane TEM8 variable-speed air handler, electric auxiliary heat and professional installation.
The exact equipment changes with system capacity. For example, the 2-ton package uses a 24,000 BTUh XV18 outdoor unit with a 30,000 BTUh TEM8 air handler. The 3-ton package uses a 36,000 BTUh XV18 with a 36,000 BTUh TEM8. Larger 4-ton and 5-ton systems use higher-capacity indoor equipment.
Proper indoor and outdoor equipment matching matters because the efficiency and operation of a split heat pump depend on the complete system, not only the outdoor cabinet.
